Financial Literacy Day Celebration
Financial Literacy Day Celebration (14th October 2010).
Indian School of Microfinance for Women (ISMW), an unique school dedicated to microfinance education, celebrates 14th October every year, as a ‘Financial Literacy Day’ with a workshop on specific theme. The theme of this year celebration is ‘Financial Inclusion through Financial Literacy’. About 200 participants from NGOs, MFIs, and Banks are expected to participate in the workshop and deliberate on the subject. Mr. R Gopalan, IAS, Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Government of India, will deliver key note address on the occasion. Smt. Elaben Bhatt (Founder SEWA and FWWB India) will deliver presidential speech on the occasion. Other notable speakers will be from RBI, NABARD, SIDBI, UNDP and Indian Institute of Banking and Finance.
A panel discussion on ‘Financial inclusion through Financial Literacy – Building a partnership’ will be a part of the celebration. Mr. U K Sinha, Chairman, UIT is invited to chair the panel discussion. Panel discussion will be an open platform for interacting with the experts in the microfinance sectors.
1. Understanding issues pertaining to financial inclusion policies.
2. Field level experience sharing for financial inclusion particularly for rural and urban poor.
Who can participate: - Senior and middle level professionals working in the Microfinance sector will able to learn latest trends in the sector. Financial Literacy day celebration will be an opportunity for experience sharing and mutual learning for professionals of microfinance sector. In addition, the event will be an opportunity for networking with likeminded institutions.
