VILLAGE WELFARE SOCIETY (VWS)
VWS established in the year 1978 and registered as a developmental society in the year 1982 with a mission to create meaningful opportunity for the depressed section of the society to attain socio-economic empowerment and sustainable development.
To reach out the mission VWS has taken up several developmental projects in different location of the State.
Area of Operation – VWS is now working in whole of West Bengal State in India.
Among many of its programs the following programs have credible contribution to the society:-
Old Age Home – It is a Government of India scheme for rehabilitation and care of the elderly women who have none to take care.
Day Care Centre – It is also a Government of India scheme for providing medical care and arranging recreational arrangements (religious assemble, reading magazine & newspaper, Yoga etc) for the aged.
Microfinance – We have reached out more than 3 lakh poor women with credit facilities by its separate entity Village Financial Services Pvt. Ltd. in whole of West Bengal.
SHHPP – It is called Self-Help Health Protection Program, which started for forming Self-help Health Protection group of women of backward section of the society with a view to reduce health expenditure, generate Health savings, Health loan, Health insurance, Health literacy & Health education. It is a self-sustaining model.
Financial Literacy – It is a continuous program to literate both spouse of families with a view to reduce unnecessary expenditure, prepare and maintain a family budget, encourage for savings, investment in proper gainful scheme, cover security for entire family members and fulfill their dreams.
Village Swasth Suraksha – VWS is organizing OPD clinics at different places for catering low cost medical support to poor people including supply of medicine.
